Born in Luruaco, Atlántico, and raised between Santa Cruz and Cartagena, Colombia, Javier Solano Castillo, “Solano”, has been connected to art from an early age. His artistic journey began with clay sculpture and school art projects before evolving into a lifelong dedication to painting and the fine arts.

Solano is known for his expressive brushwork and bold palette-knife techniques, creating richly textured works that emphasize movement, emotion, and the physical act of painting. His intuitive process allows each composition to emerge organically, guided by instinct rather than a predetermined formula.

His work has been exhibited in galleries, cultural organizations, and artistic venues throughout Cartagena. Today, Solano continues to live and create in Cartagena, where his practice reflects a deep and enduring commitment to artistic expression.
