Terms of Sale

These Terms of Sale apply to all purchases made from Valent Vernier (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

By purchasing an artwork, you agree to these Terms in addition to our Shipping & Returns and Privacy Policy.

  1. Scope of Sales

These Terms apply to artworks sold:

  • Through valentvernier.com
  • Through direct or private sales, including sales documented by written confirmation
  • Following inquiry-based purchases
  • At art fairs or temporary exhibitions where Valent Vernier participates

For artworks sold through third-party galleries or partner institutions, the policies of the selling gallery or institution shall govern the transaction.

  1. Artwork Types

Artworks offered may include:

  • Original works of art
  • Limited-edition prints
  • Open-edition prints or reprints
  • Framed or unframed works

All artworks are described in good faith. Variations inherent to the artistic process, materials, or editioning do not constitute defects.

  1. Inquiries, Availability & Holds

Some artworks are available for immediate purchase, while others are offered on an inquiry-only basis.

  • Submitting an inquiry does not place an artwork on hold
  • Availability is confirmed only by written confirmation from Valent Vernier
  • A deposit and written confirmation are required to secure an artwork
  • Valent Vernier reserves the right to sell an artwork until confirmation is completed
  1. Pricing & Payment

Prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.

Payment terms may include:

  • Full payment at purchase, or
  • A deposit with balance due prior to shipment or delivery

Shipping, taxes, duties, and insurance are not included unless expressly stated in writing.

  1. All Sales Final

Due to the nature of fine art, all sales are final unless otherwise agreed to in writing prior to purchase.

Returns based on preference, scale, color variation, or aesthetic considerations are not accepted.

  1. Shipping & Risk of Loss

Shipping and delivery are governed by our Shipping & Returns page.

Risk of loss passes to the buyer upon delivery to the carrier unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  1. Art Fair Sales

Artworks purchased at art fairs or temporary exhibitions are subject to these Terms unless otherwise stated at the point of sale.

  • Payment may be required at the time of purchase
  • Delivery may occur after the fair concludes
  • All art fair sales are final unless agreed otherwise in writing
  1. Title & Copyright

Title to the artwork transfers to the buyer upon full payment.

Copyright and all reproduction rights remain with the artist unless otherwise expressly transferred in writing.
Purchase of an artwork does not grant rights to reproduce or commercially exploit images of the work.

  1. Taxes & Duties

Buyers are responsible for all applicable sales tax, use tax, VAT, customs duties, or import fees unless otherwise stated in writing.
